The Scout and Guide groups of Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire have been raising money to build a new combined `group Headquarters in the village. The initial idea was conceived over 30 years ago and money is still being raised to enable the Scouts and guides and the wider community of Barton to benefit from these wonderful new facilities. This 4 phased project is now well underway. Our Building Contractor moved on site September 1st 2009, and have already completed phase 1 & 2. We look forward to bringing them back to complete phase 3.
The 2 phases provide us with a front entrance, toilet and shower facilities and an activity hall. These have been well used since our opening in June 2011.
We are now concentrating on fund raising for phase 3 which will complete the existing building and provide us with a kitchen, meeting room and additional toilets.
Since our opening, the facilities have not only been used by our uniformed organisations but we have regular dance and yoga classes with tea dances during six months of the year. There have been many private bookings for children and adult parties, weekly Archery takes place and the demands to use the building are greater than the availability that we can offer! Once phase 3 is completed we will move on to complete the project with our second activity hall (phase 4).
Our dedicated team of fundraisers would welcome your help, suggestions and support. Please contact us at any time, fresh ideas are always needed.

Thank you for your support.
